“You must make the most out of your life. I liken it to a race; you want to make the finish line, but enjoy the journey along the way. Training your body, filling yourself with good nutrition and loving your soul is a good start towards that goal. ”
Steve has always had an interest in sport. As a little chubby kid, he played cricket, footy and rode his bike. A bike accident as a young teen saw him sidelined for 6 months. This is when he became a little more chubby and lost a lot of self-confidence. Fast forward a few years; studying at Uni and becoming an asthmatic, he topped the scales at 117kg. A bad asthma attack landed him in hospital for a week, resulting in rapid weight loss and a change in attitude. He was sick of being unwell, unhappy and unfit. He purchased an exercise bike and managed to clock up several thousand kilometers in the safety of his little flat in Melbourne. Upon moving to Portland for employment as a Medical Scientist, he joined the gym and became addicted to weight training. His hunger for information led to him completing his Vic Fit registration in 1994. Since then, he has updated with Certificate 3 & 4 in Fitness, Thump Boxing training, and is a Level 1 MP Trainer. Steve enjoys training a few FIRE clients and taking some of the ICE SESSIONS including the Boxing 4 Fitness classes. He shows a true empathy towards his clients, but they will all tell you he is really bad at counting! He also works part-time at the Portland Hospital Pathology Department.
